Mouth Sores

I have suffered from geographic tongue (yes, it exists) since the early 90's. I don't know how I got it and it's not contagious. Periodically, my tongue gets bald spots and hurts. I went to the doctor and he told me what it was and that there is no cure and very little known about it. Ok, so I won't die from it.

Over the years of periodic suffering, I have done some extensive research on this condition, but before I get into that, I feel I need to show you what this condition looks like since you probably have never seen it before. Here is what mine looks like:
You can see the bald spots and they hurt like a canker sore. This is a mild case compared to the ones I have seen on Google Images! However, mine can get so painful that it hurts to talk and swallow.

Treatments
Here are the ways I have found to help deal with geographic tongue and really any mouth sore.

  1. L-lysine is an amino acid that is produced in the body, but as we age, we produce less like melatonine for sleeping. I don't know why l-lysine works, but it does! I started taking 500 mil.
  2. 2. Hydrogen peroxide. I mix it with a little mouthwash and swish and spit.
    3. Find out what is causing it. I have found several things that I eat that gives mouth sores including cinnamon oil (no Hot Tamales for me!), xylitol (I can only chew 5 gum, walnuts, and grapefruit.
